When the bar / pastry shop Gander opened its doors in 1968, it was one of the first pure coffee houses in the region.
Back then, it was unusual to find a place that specialized exclusively in coffee and cake. At a time when most inns still offered a wider range of food and drinks, the concept of the pastry shop Gander was a small revolution in the local gastronomy scene. The locals, fascinated by the novelty and coziness of the house, soon gave it its own nickname: "The Caffeebar". This name reflects the special atmosphere and the unique offer, which for many represented a pleasant change from the usual inns of the time. We have kept this lovingly given name over the years and it has become a symbol of the loyalty and solidarity of our guests.
For more than 55 years, we have been happy every day to welcome our regular customers and new guests to our coffee bar.
